Come and see!
This house is so beautifully balanced and the location is so special that it is difficult to put this into words. We recommend that you come and see it to experience and judge for yourself.
High-end design and finish
The design villa was designed with a great sense of light and space by Martijn Braunstahl of MTB Architects. In the design, the indoor and outdoor spaces flow into each other in perfect harmony. The high windows and loft provide a spectacular entrance. The ceiling height in the living room is approximately three meters and in the attractive loft no less than approximately six meters. The high industrial steel frame at the entrance, the power floated concrete heated floors, the unique handmade walnut Z-stairs, the electrically operated ventilated blinds, the custom-made kitchen with Gaggenau appliances; they are all of a rare high quality. The high-end finish, performed by passionate Dutch craftsmen who belong to the absolute top in their field, makes this a unique and timeless object.
Layout
On the ground floor (81 m2), the kitchen and sitting room flow seamlessly into each other. The spacious, multifunctional storage/utility room is accessible via the kitchen, the water and the driveway. On the first floor there are two spacious bedrooms, a multifunctional room with indoor terrace, a high-end bathroom and a washing/drying room. The indoor balcony is easy to close, creating a fourth bedroom. On the second floor there is the master bedroom with its own sink, walk-in shower, separate toilet and walk-in closet. From the master bedroom you have access to the spacious roof terrace (approx 38 m2) with unobstructed views of Amsterdam all the way over the IJsselmeer.
Spacious outdoor areas and view
You reach your house via a driveway from the Schokkerjachtdijk. There is room for two parking spaces on site, adjacent to the spacious garden (approx. 90 m2) on the southeast. The covered water terrace (approx. 16m2) at the rear has a swimming ladder and bollards and offers a berth for a sloop under or on the terrace. On the first floor you will find an indoor balcony. A spacious roof terrace has been constructed on the second floor with unobstructed views over the water and park towards the east, south and west. The north side has a low-maintenance green roof.
LAYOUT
Ground floor:
You enter through the six-meter high hall, with a high interior window to the first floor as a playful detail. In the hall you will find the doors to the toilet and meter cupboard. Through the industrial steel frame you reach the high part of the living room, with the Z-stairs to the first floor immediately after entering. The solid walnut stair sculptures are designed by stair artist Jakkoo van Asten and made by hand. These stairs run through the entire house as a beautiful connecting style element.
At the front, the living room adjoins the tiled garden terrace through a large sliding door. The ideal place for breakfast in the morning or lunch in the early afternoon. At the rear, the living room continues above the water, with windows all around and a sliding window to the water. Here you can enjoy the afternoon and evening sun all year round while watching the swans on the water or feeding the ducks.
From the living room you are immediately in the open kitchen. This is made by a furniture maker from solid high-gloss walnut wood. The equipment is of the highest level. Gaggenau combi-steam oven and combi-microwave, Bora induction hob with downdraft extraction system. Quooker Cube with which you can get boiling water, ice cold water and carbonated water directly from the tap. The refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher are the top-line from Siemens.
Through the sliding door in the kitchen you reach the covered terrace at the rear. This terrace with stainless steel swim ladder floats above the water and has sun from noon until sunset. A low sloop can be built under the terrace. Stainless steel bollards have already been installed on the terrace for mooring your yacht alongside. From here you can sail to the Markermeer within 15 minutes!
Behind the kitchen is the multifunctional storage room (can also serve as a utility room, studio or practice room, for example) with double sliding glass doors to both the garden and the waterfront. So you can easily store your surfboard, jet ski or motorcycle here.
First floor:
Via the stairs you first reach the open multifunctional space (approx. 18 m2). With a view of the garden and a view over the Markermeer on one side and access to an indoor balcony on the other. This space borders the loft via a balustrade and is therefore in contact with the living room. This room can function beautifully as an office or as a television / hobby room.
Through the hallway on the first floor you reach two bedrooms with parquet flooring and underfloor heating. All other areas have heated, power floated and polished concrete floors. The large bedroom windows offer a view over the water at the rear of the house.
At the end of the hallway you will find the modern and bright bathroom with toilet, rain shower, freestanding bath with waterfall tap, handmade vanity unit made of solid high-gloss walnut with double riverstone washbasins and waterfall taps. Playful detail: The window offers privacy while you enjoy the unobstructed view over the Markermeer via the loft.
In the hallway, under the stairs to the second floor, there is a closet for the washing machine and dryer.
Second floor:
Landing, access to the roof terrace, master bedroom with walk-in closet (approx. 22 m2). The double garden door leads to the roof terrace where you have a beautiful view over the Markermeer and the rustic ships on the Bert Haanstrakade.
The walk-in closet consists of two oppositely placed high-gloss white cupboard walls, custom-made by a furniture maker. Through the walk-in closet you reach the bathroom with a walk-in shower, handmade solid walnut washbasin with riverstone sink and waterfall tap.

LOCATION
The house is located in the water-rich part of Steigereiland; the foremost island of the group of Amsterdam islands that together form the IJburg. What is striking about the population composition is that many enterprising people live here, with Steigereiland having the most creative slant. This is reflected in the special architecture that residents often had a hand in. IJburg is clearly on the rise and offers new trendy cafes, restaurants, a cinema and theater, various activities in the field of sports, art and theater, a water sports association and artistic shops in Amsterdam. In addition, the Diemerpark is within walking distance. Here you can walk, run, cycle and skate to your heart's content. There is a football, tennis and hockey club, a sailing club and the park has its own beach. On Haveneiland, the island right next to Steigereiland, there is a shopping center with, among other things, artisanal fresh food shops, various lunch and espresso bars, a large Albert Heijn, HEMA, Vomar, Deen, hairdressers, Action, Holland & Barrett and a Bruna with a TNT -Post office. Everything within walking distance.
Superlatives are lacking. This detached villa has everything!
